What is a property ref? |
|
Each property has its own unique property reference. This reference will appear on your 'For Sale' board and alongside the advert should you choose to advertise in one of our partner publications. Potential buyers can then enter this property ref on the Homesell website and hey presto, the full property details will appear before their eyes! |

How does the registration process work? |
|
|
To register all you have to do is enter in your email address and a password. You will then have unlimited access to the wide range of extra features and services throughout the site. |

How do I submit a property? |
|
If you click on the 'List property now' or 'sell home' links you will be taken straight to our Place An Ad page. Here you can enter the details of your property, and upload any photos or videos that you may have. Homesell offers a FREE 2 week trial period. After that you may choose one of our effective enhancements. Prices start from as little as £10, which is a tiny fraction of what you would pay an Estate Agent in commission. Click here to view our complete price list. If you've already registered with Homesell your details will be stored. This will save you time should you need to re-advertise your property. |

What should I put in the "Text of Ad" box? |
|
This is your chance to sing your property's praises. Use the box to describe the property in as much detail as you can. Top tip: Use headings, line and paragraph breaks, as this will make the text easier to read. Talk about the different rooms and features of your property, making special mention of any interesting or unusual features that you think will enhance the sale of the property. You may also want to say a bit about the local area, i.e. local schools near by etc. You can always get inspiration from other ads on the site if you're still unsure. |

Why didn't my advert show up? |
|
If you have just posted your advert, it may take a few minutes for it to appear on the site. This is because we run a quick check on ads to make sure that they are booked into the correct section, and include all the relevant details. |

How do I display photos with my advert? |
|
After you have entered the details of your property, you will be given the chance to upload as many as 6 photos, to help showcase your property. The photos will need to be stored on your pc. You can download them from your digital camera or mobile phone, or you can scan and save photos on to your machine. Clicking the browse button will give you access to all the images on your pc. You can then choose an image and click upload. Simply repeat this process to add more than one image. We recommend that you display as many photos as possible to give buyers a clearer picture of the property. |

Can I place an advert if I don't have any photos? |
|
Yes, of course you can. Just be sure to describe the property in as much detail as you can. |

I am having problems uploading a photo to my advert. |
|
It could be that the photo is too large. The maximum file size you can upload is 2,000k (2meg). Most photo packages allow you to compress and reduce the size of photos, so it should be fairly easy to amend the file size to 2meg or below. The image must also be in JPG or GIF format (JPG (or JPEG) is the norm for photos). |

How do I include a video with my advert? |
|
After you have entered the details of your property, you will be given the chance to upload a video to your advert, allowing you to give potential buyers a virtual tour of your property. The video will need to be stored on your pc. You can download this from your digital camera or mobile phone. Clicking the browse button will enable you to access all the video files on your pc. Choose the correct video file, and click 'upload'. The file must have an extension of .mov, .mpg, .avi, .vtr, or .wmv - which are the norm for videos. |

How do I pay for my advert? |
|
You can pay online by credit/debit card for any of our packages. Alternatively you can call us on 0800 138 2018 and we can arrange for payment by cheque. |

How do I renew my advert? |
|
You will get a reminder shortly before your advert is due to expire. You will be able to renew your advert via this email. |
|
How do I edit my advert? |
|
Once you're logged in you can make changes to your advert at any time. Simply click on the manage my ads link on the home page. |
|
How do I remove my advert? |
|
If you have sold your property you will want to remove your advert from Homesell. Log on and click the manage my ads link from the homepage. Then simply click the 'remove' option, which will appear alongside the listing of your ad. |

Why didn't my search turn up any matches? |
|
It might be that we don't currently have any properties listed on Homesell that match your exact search criteria. You do have the option of broadening your search criteria to return more results. Alternatively you can set up property alerts. Submit your search criteria and, when a property is added to the site that matches, you will receive an email with all the details. |

How do I see the full details for a particular ad? |
|
Simply click on the photo image or on the "view details" link. |
|
How do I contact someone who has posted an advert? |
|
At the bottom of the advert you will see the "Contact Information" section. If the seller has chosen to display their telephone number(s) it will be listed here. Alternatively, click on the "click here to email' link and you will be presented with an enquiry form. Fill this out and your message will be e-mailed to the seller. Should you wish to be contacted by phone, please put your telephone number with your message. |
