Col na Sithe is a different house, on the beautiful and different Isle of Colonsay in the Southern Hebrides.
Architect designed it was completed in 2005, and it has NHBC certificate.
This small island is a gem: about 8 miles long and 3 wide. At it’s Southern end it is joined to the smaller Isle of Oransay, with its ancient Priory. Low Tide will allow you to walk to Oransay. Golden Beaches, lovely lochs, an 18 hole golf course and freedom to walk where you will - a different house in a different location.
See .colonsay.org.uk for much more information on the island; Ferries; Air Transport and happenings etc.
The house is built on three levels with - on the entry level: Entrance Porch (& Outdoor clothing storage); Utility Room; Cloakroom; Main door Entry vestibule and impressive Hall with ceiling reaching to full height.
From the Hall - Stairs of 6 treads, go down to the three bedrooms. Each with en-suite facilities. The Main bedroom boasting a lounge area, & dressing room & ensuite.
Stairs (7 tread), go up from the Hall to the third level which comprises Kitchen (enormous & beautifully kitted); and awesome Sitting lounge with Dining Room. Sitting room leads to the Juliet balcony. and on this same level, approached from the Landing there is a Study (with Broadband connection) and - wait for it - via a wee stairs arrangement you get to the impressive Wine Store.
Fenced land (more than 1600sqM) includes a vegetable garden but is mainly laid to lawn. A Sit-On mower can be justified! There is direct access to the garden from two of the bedrooms. The large Workshop/garage (8m X 5.3M) is fully wired and complete with fitted benches. It incorporates a WC and a Shower, plus a sink with water heater. A separate Log and Coal store is next to Workshop.
Col na Sithe has not been used for B&B - but, if desired it lends itself very easily to this. There is considerable scope for business here; not only during Tourist months but throughout the year: providing accommodation for visiting Specilaists (BT; Water; Airport; Power etc etc) It would be easy -(by simple, inexpensive conversion of present Dining Room and the Study) to have separate Owner’s self-contained accommodation of double/twin bedroom with en-suite facilities: additional to the three splendid letting double/twin bedrooms each with en-suite facilities. Large Hall could be Guest Lounge, with dining there - or in large Breakfast room. |
